Shelbyville - The Twins House - A long time ago there were two teenage boys who
had gone crazy after their mother was killed by their father. The two boys
killed their father in cold blood. The house is still haunted by the two boys.
The house is symmetric on both sides one for both twins to live on. On July 4th,
1940 the two stabbed each other to death. On July 4th it is said that you can
hear the two boys screaming in pain from the fighting.

Shelbyville - Werewolf Hollow - If you drive down the lane at Werewolf Hollow,
there is a stop sign. Look close and you will see blood flowing on it. As you go
on, there are cornfields. You can see a male ghost. Be careful not to stop your
car because he will scratch your car. He is trying to warn you not to go on.
There are some abandoned houses and if you get out of your car (if you dare) and
go up to the houses, you can see a ghost in one window. In another window, you
hear noises and a hole in it.

Shelbyville
Haunted House -The tale behind this haunted house is that a young girl was accidentally shot and killed here. Because a lot of people were conducting witchcraft in the house and because there was a lot of injuries to kids meddling about the house it was fenced off. You can still get close enough to hear eerie voices talking and moaning. Other things heard here are nervous pacing on wooden floors and scratching on the boards that cover the windows and on the doors, all coming from inside the house and getting louder and louder as if whatever was the cause was growing more and more desperate to escape this house. You know you are at the right house as soon as you see it. It is a mansion covered in graffiti sitting all by itself after the bridge. It has a light shining on it and no trespassing signs out front. If this was her family home, this spirit will be rather strong and a dependable fright until the house is dismantled. One source says that you cannot miss the house while another says the house has been demolished. I can only map its approximate location and I feel that the house is no longer there.

Shelbyville

Haunted House - coming from I-74 and hwy.44 at Shelbyville go towards Rushville to rays crossing.  Look for big grain elevator then turn left at 600n. follow the rd. till it curves left then right then left to the T that is union rd. turn right. Go over bridges (rd.curves a lot). The house sits on left side all by itself about 5 mi. from first bridge. Story has it a young girl was accidentally shot in this house.  You will definitely know this house when you see it. It is a boarded up mansion and has barb wire fence around the whole thing so no one can get in. There is a bright light shinning on the house at night. The house is pad locked and there is keep out signs on the front and lots of graffiti. You can still go and stand outside the fence.  You can hear scratching on the boarded up windows coming from the inside and on the front doors. Each time it got louder and louder like something was trying to get out. It sounds like someone pacing hard wood floors on the inside. Moaning can be heard and faint talking. Kids used to go inside and perform rituals but a lot of kids were hurt in the house and bad things happened to them so they make sure no one goes in now.

Haunted Story:
It is said that in the early days of the town of Werewolf Hollow, and unknown creature was going around killing all of the farmers animals and was later named a weir wolf who still roams the woods today. There are many haunted stories of the town of Werewolf Hollow and here are a few. One story of Werewolf Hollow is that there was a boy that was going to check the mail at the mail box across the street and a semi came by and hit and killed him. Now you can park at the bottom of the hill where his house is and you can see him cross the street and get hit by the semi. Today that house still stands and it is the only house in this area that has the mailbox on the side of the road closest to the house. Also, another story of Werewolf Hollow is the old KKK house. All of the land around here was donated by the "Red Dragon" which is the leader of the KKK, and there are actual signs that say this. But there is an old KKK house that is still haunted. Story says that the KKK members killed many people in this house and their ghosts are still there waiting for revenge. If you enter this house, you will find a large cross symbol burnt into the floor, and if you venture into the basement (if you dare), you will find many nooses still hanging in the rafters. Story says that if you enter the house, the ghosts of the house will haunt you forever. Another story of Werewolf Hollow is the electric bridge. The bridge is very old and has high voltage power lines going over it. Back in the early day, they were just regular power lines but still had a lot of voltage going through them. Legend goes that a car stopped on the bridge with a man and his two small children and lightning hit the power lines and the power lines fell and killed the family. Today you can go to the bridge and stop your car on the bridge and turn it off and you will here sounds coming from under the bridge and if you try to start your car and get away, your car won't start until you put it in neutral and push it off the bridge. Also at this bridge you can hold up a fluorescent light bulb into the air and because of the very powerful power lines, the light bulb will light up in your hand. But you have to remember that if you enter this area just looking for these things, that the werewolf is still out there looking for something or someone to eat.

Our Testimonial:
Thanks to the nice lady at Denny's, we were able to find Werewolf Hollow. This area is pretty wierd. It has a creek on one side, and is hilly. We found the electric bridge, which we have pictures of. You can hear the electricity just pulsing through the lines. We turned off our car, however it started right up. There was lots of graffiti and such on it. It was beginning to get light outside, so we decided to walk around in the forested area of Werewolf Hollow. I decided to take a picture of Matt, which came out strange and blurry. I shrugged it off, and continued walking. Almost simoultaneously, we had a chill from head to toe. I tried to play it off calmly, but it was almost overpowering. As we walked it got stronger, it was almost like something or someone was watching us. We walked for about 500 feet, and the chill just vanished, for both of us at the same time. After that incident we ran back to the car. According to legend, two people pulled off the side of the road. The man heard something and got out. Soon the woman heard scratching on the side of the car. Then she heard screaming. She pulled away and drove back to town. To this day they never found the man. They supposibly pulled off near the creek. We also saw the mailbox on the other side of the street, however...no little boy. Definately a place to check out if you are in the area.

Haunted Story:
Story has it a young girl a few years ago killed herself in this house and her body was not found until 2 weeks later. They say the floor still has a blood stain from where she lay. When I did it was the creepiest experience. You can hear scratching on the boarded up windows coming from the inside and on the front doors. Each time we went back it got louder and louder like something was trying to get out. It sounds like someone pacing hard wood floors on the inside. We even heard clanging and what sounded like objects being thrown around. Moaning can be heard and faint talking. Kids used to go inside and perform rituals but from what I heard a lot of kids were hurt in the house and bad things happened to them so they make sure no one goes in now.

Our Testimonial:
We definately found the house. We also have some pictures. It just kind of looks like a boarded up house. In the haunted testimony, they reported scratching and such. Well, we figured out what that was. There is an entire family of skunks that live in the house. Trust me, I was almost attacked by one when I shined my flashlight in its face. I have pictures of it. We saw about 10 of them cross the street and head into the house. They make sounds that can be interpreted as children noises. The house may be haunted, but more than likely what they heard were the skunks. Matt's father has been in this house, because he grew up in the area. According to him, the blood stains are still on the floor upstairs from where the girl killed herself. We plan on breaking into this house sometime, however I don't really want to smell like skunk for 3 days. It is worth checking out, but unless you want to get sprayed, I'd suggest checking it out from a nice distance.

Rating:( If the blood is still there!)
